FREQUENTLY ASKED  QUESTIONS

Q: Can I drop off my mom/dad at the Senior Center and pick them up later? 

A: We encourage our participants to drive themselves if able or schedule a ride with JCATS. While family members can drop off a loved one, we kindly ask that they are picked up before closing. All participants must be independent as we do not have staff to look after anyone and be willing and able to participate in programs. For further questions, please contact the center directly for any questions or concerns.

Q: Do you help with transportation to the grocery stores, doctor appointments, etc.? 

A: Yes, you can contact our JCATS office at 919-202-5030 to schedule a ride or to ride QuickRide. Please note that QuickRide is similar to a taxi or uber service, the rider will be dropped off at his/her requested destination and picked up once contacted by the rider.

Q: My mom is 95 years old and has dementia but I can't take her to her doctors appointment. Do you have someone that can take her? 

A: You can schedule your mom a ride via JCATS or QuickRide; however, please note that QuickRide is similar to a taxi or uber service, the rider will be dropped off at his/her requested destination and picked up once contacted by the rider. It is the riders responsibility to have an aide with them for any assistance they may need while traveling, CSS nor JCATS have staff that accompany riders to assist with mobility or activities of daily living (ADLs).

Q: I want to get on the Golden Wishes Program to receive gifts. How can I sign up?

A: Our Golden Wishes program is designated for those seniors on our Home Delivered Meals Program (HDM) and who receive In Home Aid Services (IHA). These are typically home bound seniors with little resources. If you wish to enroll in either our HDM or IHA program, please contact our main office at 919-934-6066.
